As background for handicap robot - here's an video...
RI-MAN is the world's first robot designed for lifting and carrying humans. A variety of sensors, including flexible tactile sensor sheets, provide RI-MAN with a sense of vision, hearing, touch, and smell.

Here's another very interesting video about a machine called Lokomat, which is a sort of a walking robot which helps people who had an accident or a stroke to learn to walk again.

This robot is used in therapy for Alzheimer's patients and is also kept as a pet by hundreds of families in Japan. It is modeled on a baby harp seal.

Welcome to the future.  Robots will soon be helping humans with all kinds of physical disabilities.  There will be intelligent wheel chairs, robotic suits, and robotic assistants who will lift people out of their beds, wash them, and bring them their food.
